The basic training focuses on theory as well as basics of practical medical transcription including typing practice and extends over a period of about 3 months
Trainees who clear Basic Training progress to Advanced Training.
Advanced Training is done in-house at the
Spheris facility.
This division functions with two primary objectives:
1) Application of training received during
basic training.
2) Making training as close a simulation of production as possible.
Advanced Training focuses on giving trainees the hands-on experience of working with live transcripts to sensitize trainees to
customer demands.
This training culminates with an evaluation which checks for preparedness to work in production with a reasonable level of productivity and the expected quality standards.
This training program extends to about 5 months - the duration may be extended or shortened depending on the trainee’s needs
and performance.
Our Training Program has evolved over a period of 11 years and is currently the best in
the industry.
If you are successful in getting through our test for written and comprehension skills in the English language followed by an interview, you will be eligible for our training program.

Medical Transcriptionists are specialists in medical language and healthcare documentation.
An MT converts free form medical dictation into electronically formatted patient records using their training in Language of Medicine, English, Americanisms, Phonetics and Referencing.
The transcriptionist receives dictation in the form of a voice file, listens to it on a headset, uses a foot pedal to run the dictation (foot pedals are equipped with pause, rewind, and forward functions), types it into text format, and returns to the document to its origin.

R. J. Srinivas Murthy - Vice President Finance and Company Secretary
Srinivas Murthy joined Spheris India in February 1998 as Manager - Finance and Accounts and was promoted to the position of Vice President - Finance in February 1999 and handles Financial Reporting, MIS, Budget, Working Capital Management, Audit, Company Secretarial and all statutory compliances.
